Ode to Cabo

So it's been a couple of months and I've barely posted about our trip. We loved Cabo! It was such a good idea to go there and we'd go back again if we didn't have a million other places we would like to visit. Perhaps if we win the lottery we can take another trip.
We stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica. It is one of 4 sister hotels in Cabo and in our estimation after visiting them all, the best one! This was the view from our balcony!

It was an adults only place and very zen. The best part about it had to be the pools and the beach beds!

We spent a lot of time on these...
and at this...

We booze cruised it to the Arch and watched drunk girls dance around like morons and made friends with a couple from Denver, who we went to dinner with after we docked.

We haggled with beach vendors,

hung out at the beach,

and ate a lot of this...

but mostly we just relaxed and took a lot of photos... in case you didn't notice ;-)

Artistic Endeavors

Dan's been learning how to use our photo editing software. I thought I'd post some of his latest work... we'll see how long it takes for him to figure out that this has happened, as I'm pretty sure he is only reading my blog when I'm on it and am sitting next to him.

I think it's so fun to play around with pictures and make them completely yours!

Sad Puppy

Lately the happiest member of our household has not been that happy. Charlie has been getting hot spots lately that he will not leave alone. He has learned to be very sneaky about it and I've had to resort to.... THE CONE!!
He has a a really long face, so I had to go out and get the biggest possible cone I could find. The other morning I let him outside in it while the sprinklers were going and this is what greeted me when I let him back in.

He is so sad looking in that cone and he has no control over it whatsoever so he is bumping into everything! Hopefully the cone will take care of our hot spot issue so that we can remove the cone for good and get our happy pup back 24/7.

PS: See the fence in the background of that photo... Dan and I are trying to decide between repainting the fence white or staining it a wood color. We can't decide... any thoughts?

The best thing since...

So when Dan and I got back from Cabo we found a treat from our good friend Netflix in our mail in the form of the Wii disk that allows you to play Netflix right on your TV screen. It is essentially the best thing since sliced bread (even though I don't personally believe that sliced bread is that great because it most often is filled with a ton of artificial preservatives)!

Anyway, we've watched a few documentaries on it lately that have been pretty interesting and if you're looking for something new to watch, you can queue one of these up.

The September Issue - Which I watched and kind of felt like the people at Vogue seem to have jobs that are just as stressful, crazy and chaotic as mine can be.

Beer Wars
this one provides an inside look at the beer industry. It follows a bunch of craft brewers throughout the US including New Belgium Brewery up the highway in Ft. Collins, CO.

Enlighten Up!
This one follows a guy in his quest to discover what yoga is all about and if it can in fact guide him towards enlightenment. I think Dan might even try yoga out after watching it!

Our Cabo Buddy

So Dan and I got back from our Cabo trip a week or so ago and had the best time. I'll try to create a few posts over the next few days about our adventures. We took a million pictures and had so much fun.
We did stowaway an extra passenger on our trip... Meet Flat Penguin Whitney:

One of my coworker's daughters created a Flat Stanley character in her likeness (which seems to be  bit distorted, since she made a Penguin), and we took her to Cabo so that she could see some of the world. We made sure that she came along on a few of our adventures. This is what her week looked like...

We hung out by the Sea of Cortez

FPW channeled Pam Anderson and had a moment with one of those buoy rescue devices
She also made the most of her time at the Beach and got buried in the sand.

Afterward we made sure to treat ourselves for all of our hard work to buckets of Modelo overlooking the ocean :)
We also spent some time at the desert...

All in all it was great trip and FPW went home with some photo reminders of how much fun she had :)
